Discovering the Eclipse

The piste for the 2023 Alpine World Ski Championships

Tame the Eclipse
As feared as it is adored, the L'Éclipse piste left its mark on skiers' heads (and legs!) during the World Ski Championships last February.
This winter, the ESF in Courchevel 1650 is offering curious skiers eager for new sensations the chance to get to grips with the piste during a half-day discovery session. They'll analyze its technical features and key passages before setting off on their own, conditions and skill levels permitting. From the summit, skiers can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley before plunging into the slope for a vertiginous 3,200 m descent. Between light and shade, the route is full of slope breaks and big curves, with some evocative names: le saut du zénith, le mur du son, le S des arolles, le saut des jockeys, le trou noir, le mur de la bux, l'envol... to finish in apotheosis with the mur des braves!
